We are a network of 211 members passionate about the future of technology, creativity, and governance united by a shared love for the city of Austin. We are founders, artists, thought leaders, traders, professionals, engineers, and investors working together to make Austin the leading city in the crypto industry. We are a group of friends and collaborators with a shared treasury and ideas about how to use it.
ATX DAO was founded in October 2021 as a social DAO and has grown to become so much more. Due to the combined efforts of the membership base, ATX DAO established itself as the leading city DAO, responsible for accomplishing tasks many would have deemed impossible from a group of people operating in an organic, decentralized, and grassroots manner.
As an organization, we have successfully:
Authored and progressed HB 3768, the Texas DAO Bill, through the Texas House of Representatives.
Created a mural downtown and preserved it as a 3D NFT.
Organized the first Web3 Pitch Competition in Texas.
Oh, and we throw some really good parties.
What does it mean to be a DAO member?
ATX DAO is a conduit for innovation and community-building in Austin. While many of our events are open to the public, owning a membership NFT gives you access to private events, VIP perks at public events, and deeper access to a powerful network that spans web3 and beyond.
Most importantly, a membership NFT gives you ownership of the organization and the ability to make decisions that shape the future of ATX DAO. We operate with a voting system of 1 NFT = 1 vote, and any member may raise a proposal about how the organization should operate and deploy its treasury.
As an organization we represent the community on a larger scale, interfacing with governments, corporations, and trade associations that can influence the way that our industry conducts itself. ATX DAO ultimately aims to be a formidable institution with the ability to mobilize the community to affect change in the city and beyond.
DAO member contributions are not expected. Simply being a part of our network is valuable. Those interested in lending their skills to an existing project or rising leaders who want to create something new are eligible to receive compensation.
The Bluebonnet Membership Round
The mint price for this round will be 1 ETH as dictated by the open market. Proceeds will go directly to the ATX DAO shared treasury, which is dedicated to expanding our core pillars of innovation, policy, and community. By investing in these key areas, we aim to propel Austin into a cutting-edge city that fosters growth and embraces technological advancements.
The funds raised will be utilized to support ATX DAO initiatives such as impacting blockchain legislation, hosting hackathons, as well as running events that educate and spread awareness of web3 to the masses. In addition to funding operational costs, funds will be used to empower ATX DAO members by financing their groundbreaking ideas. With a strong focus on innovation, policy, and community, we are committed to making Austin a leader in the crypto space and a model for other cities to follow.
